Save the date!

Remember the Letters to Phil? Remember how a producer from PBS contacted Geoff about them and asked him to read them for an upcoming documentary? Well, it's scheduled to air tomorrow in NYC, and in November everywhere else!

Geoff forwarded me an email detailing the dates his documentary will air on PBS. If you recall, Geoff transcribed several family letters from Phil Wood and I posted them in my business blog (you can search for "Letters from Phil" in my blog on the VMS site). A producer from PBS found them and contacted Geoff, who was asked to read the letters in the documentary! (I think that's extremely exciting!)

Here is the email:

I wanted to give you the latest info on "New York Goes to War."

Both the two hour local version of the show which airs starting this
Thursday, and the one hour national version, set to air in November [see
air dates/times below] will include extensive excerpts from Phil's
letters, as read by Geoffrey, as well as many of the family photos you
shared. The documentary also includes very moving remembrances of Phil
by George Smith, one of the Marines under his command.

The interview I did with Gretchen will NOT air in the documentary
itself, but will instead be included as a bonus "extra" in the packaged
DVD along with our quick interview with Geoffrey.

AIRDATES:

On Channel 13 in NYC
Thursday, Sept 20 9:30 pm (first hour)
Thursday, Sept 27 8:00 pm (second hour)
There will be various repeats throught the next three weeks

On PBS stations nationwide:
Thursday, Nov 8 10 pm

Congratulations, Geoff! Well done!
