If you are a Bride ordering bridesmaid gowns, please read this before you order! We love working with our brides and their wedding parties. We pamper them to the hilt and will help with any type of wedding questions they may have. However, one aspect of ordering that can sometimes lead to the loss of bridal sanity is, unfortunately, dealing with a disorganized wedding party order. We fill hundreds of wedding party orders each year and to help your wedding order proceed smoothly, and based on past experiences, we'd like to offer a few suggestions to avoid any problematic situations. First: If your wedding party will all be wearing the same color, all gowns must be ordered at the same time, by one person. Otherwise we won't know that you're all in one group, and the fabrics will not be cut from the same bolt and the dye lots will not match. This means that one person should gather money from all the bridesmaids, then send it to us, either through Paypal or in a mailed money order. (If you have questions, just ask - we're happy to help) If all the bridesmaids order individually at different times, the colors are not going to match exactly, due to vaired dye lots and fabric being cut from different bolts at different times. We won't have any way of knowing that this is for a wedding party and will assume that all these people are simply single clients, not associated with the same event. Even if your bridesmaids are not wearing the same color, it is still very important that all orders be placed at the same time, by only one person who is in charge of the entire ordering process to ensure a timely delivery date that will match up with the rest of the wedding party. Ideally, only one person should be in charge of the ordering process and the same person should gather all order forms and make sure I receive them back in a timely manner. To play it safe, have the same person collect all the money and all the measurements and act as the liaison between me and the wedding party. Brides: When choosing this person, make sure this is a person you trust implicitly, and make sure this person checks email on a daily basis. Better yet, if you are handing this task, you will always know what's going on and will have direct access to all members of your wedding party. Plus, you have the right to get downright demanding and bossy if they misbehave. It's your day, and you have that right! ;-) Customized fit for brides: If you're worried about the fit, just let us know. We offer a muslin sloper (sample bodice) service for $50. We will send you a "practice" bodice with instructions for you to try on, write on, pin and send back to us to ensure your bodice fits you to a tee. In order to use this service, You must (and this is required) be able to take this sloper to a local professional seamstress - or someone who understands how to fit a sloper - and have them "fit" it to you, then cover shipping costs to mail the sloper back to us. Your $50 payment covers two sloper shippings. In order to use our sloper service, you must place your gown order a minimum of six months in advance. Slopers must be fitted and returned to us within two weeks or we will not be able to stay on schedule. If after two weeks you have not returned your sloper, we will not be able to continue with the sloper fitting process and will make your gown without the sloper, based on the measurements you provide to us. |
